A new request arrives. Someone on the IR team pulls the closest prior submission, opens it alongside two or three others, and begins the familiar process of checking, reconciling and adapting. An hour later, they're rewriting an answer to a question they've answered a dozen times before.

Key-person dependency surfaces at the worst moments. During fundraising cycles or mandate reviews, the team members most familiar with prior submissions become bottlenecks for every open request, because no one else can confidently identify which version is current without their input.
